nicole is staying for next semester!
end-of-semester workshop - transition workshop to discuss smooth transition from leaving seniors. we should have new coordinators before we go to xmas break. should we have the transition workshop next semester? yes but with the exception of those who won’t be here next semester. don’t want to lose touch/discount the opinions of those who won’t be here next semester. survey/report/five year plan is needed. we need to have a survey from this semester’s members.
have you been able to make most of your shifts?
do you know how to contact other members/coordinators?
how accessible do you feel other members/coordinators/the coop in general is?
do you feel like the coop provides you with what you want out of a student coop? what more could it be providing?
how often do you use the coop outside of your shift?
what kind of activities do you want to see?
what do you expect from the coop? how do you contribute? how would you like to contribute?
what kind of food would you like to see in the coop?
accessibility/communication/physical space/ events?
holly - clean up party? combined with the retreat?
also a non-member survey?
food update holly
working on getting quesadillas/bagels/grilled cheese
nick said that he has a cool toaster oven?
food to sell should come out of the coffee shop account. how do we know what charge to what budget?
someone track down andrew quigley and get an answer out of him.
veggies
we need an errand person, someone the coop would give gas money to and then would get our stuff.
kombucha- made by maggie’s housemate. not regularly. maggie doesn’t have time this semester, probably next semester. would be much cheaper than the stuff at maggie’s.
new coordinators - maggie is done with her two terms at the end of this semester. anna’s going, hollie’s not sure. publicity, finance, maybe baking, inventory, events, delivery person, org. dev.
discussion of maggie’s position and the need to open it up, might be beneficial to bring new blood in and we have to because of the bylaws.
reimbursement - lauren
how does everyone feel about reimbursing out of the safe when there is no receipt? i.e. stuff from farmers’ markets. viewing account online, some of the items show up on the account and some don’t. everyone agrees that being shady is better. mary says its not illegal.
state of the coffee shop - mary and ian.
finance? - how are we doing? are we making money? kind of. $50 revenue first week, $40 the next. money seems to be flowing well, how should we get workers to put it in the drop box. ian will make sign to tell workers.
tried to program the cash register, need to get
sink
no button to make member discount! people can do math.
ash register - paper? wasteful? we are not keeping receipts. do we need records? mary is on top of it. no we do not need to keep receipts.
worker sign-in is on the coop website now. we were using wufu form, but we overused it. jonah made a new form.
stereo! nick wants to look at it? should we pay $115 or buy a new one. this would have to come out of the general budget. we probably have around $700-$800 in our CBB budget. is there another way to buy goods for the coffee shop? can we set up a system where people take turns buying honey, hot choc., etc?
if buying stuff is a problem, bring it to the group, you can always talk to us!
speakers & radio - can we get klc to fix shit?
Clean up after events! - ask people to clean up before they leave, announcement or ask the bands to do it.
next wednesday open mic!
third thursday next thursday
recruitment, tabling - peter will spearhead! do we not want to table/recruit shifts this semester - use the members that we already have. use the listserv. tabling will happen the beginning of next semester at the pio fair.
we don’t have toast right now?
anna needs help putting up posters - everyone take some. holly fo sho has howard and platt.
CBC Budget - where do we access our old budget? ANDREW QUIGLEY!!!! if he knows why we got the money we got. reasons, validations? we need to know for the next time we apply.
hoop - peter speaks in the absence of scott. shooting to open next wednesday? scott will be serving tea and coffee. will meet with GAB on friday for funds. scott has already bought a bunch of stuff??? freezer, grinder. he already has the equipment he needs ordered. needs help redecorating space. but can we? we have been told that we can’t decorate howard.
maggie -it’s cool that scott has taken this on but there is HUGE problem with someone putting the coop name on something that hasn’t been approved by the coordinators. this isn’t a part of the coop, it seems to be an individual business endeavor…
SCOTT NEEDS TO BE HERE NEXT MEETING - we need to contact scott. seems like he is using us for his own means.
pat martin - cool dude. wants to do stumptown certification because he wants the coop to be a more legit coffeeshop. doubtful that he will actually get the grant. even more doubtful that people will go through stumptown training. another student entrepreneur…wants to compete with the bon.
shirts and sweatshirts - nicole wants to do this at the beginning of next semester. have them for sale at pio fair?
girl who thinks we’re cool from washington - maggie will email her.
community space - keep in mind that the coop is a community space first and a coffeeshop second. we should think about other ways to be a cooperative. incorporate this into surveys and
transition/coordinator workshop.
jason feiner wants a wishlist.
