Meeting Minutes 3/14
- We have a new vacuum! Woooo
- Jeff is contacting the garden club/Juniper mushroomers to get rid of coffee grounds
- Sam paid $20 to WordPress for more bandwith
- BMedia Collective still wants to do something here
o We want to ask them for a brief-er workshop than they normally offer
o Maybe show a few films they made
o Penelope will be in contact with them
- Tim Howe is designing the new logo for the Rusty Nail
o Lizi is working with him to finalize the design
o Hopefully presented by DIY
- April 6 there is a Workers March with Climate Justice Coalition and Rising Tide – Contact Katie if you are interested in getting involved
Jason Feiner was in the house! Answering our questions…
- Coffee Cart:
o Base out of Howard Counter is a good idea
o We should contact/track down keys for the cabinets because they are lockable
o Wants us to consider what is realistic and what is going to be durable and last for years when making decisions
o Outdoor storage would be best
o Remember sanitation and cleaning – important to keep a schedule of this
o We should set up a high standard of service, maintenance, etc from the get-go
o Payment of students will probably have to be done through the school (student employment) and we should start working on this soon
Jason will be a conduit for us as a group to learn how to navigate the bureaucracy that is LC
- Other stuff:
o He has theatre lights! We should remind him and take up the task of having them installed by facilities
o Looking for a projector for us
o We should try again for more tables at facilities
o Sign/menu should be hung by facilities when its ready
- Reservations for events are important because the school tracks venue usage, and it will be to our advantage to have our parties counted so they will fund us in the future
o Reminder: Katie is contact for events people – tell her if you need something sent to events
- Budgeting/Reimbursements
o Jason is working on a new credit card system for clubs called “P-Cards” which will allow us to spend money, track it, and set up accounts with vendors
- We should make use of Bon Appetite’s buying power for things in bulk that we cant get elsewhere but they are buying anyway
- Member Retention:
o We should/are going to include money in the budget for satisfying our members : food, treats, parties, etc
o We need to feed and water them to keep em happy
o Member celebration…?
o Student money people will see this as a valid cost
Aaron is here from Community Relations Committee
- They have money for us for critical blast ($300 ^)
- We need to give them an amount and what it will be spent on
o Aim high because we can probably get a good chunk
- We are going to use the money to get some awesome bands
o (BTW, Pocket is a great choice of band)
o JPC… Medicine for the People (also great ideas)
